He was told the war bonnet would protect him from his enemies' arrows and bullets provided he obeyed strict taboos and carried out certain rituals. For example, he was warned that if he ate anything touched by metal he would be killed in his next battle. Later in life (September 1868), he inadvertently ate something touched by metal and, as predicted, Roman Nose was killed in his next battle.LEGENDS is the originator of Mixed Media, which is combination of LEGENDS Bronze, Fine Pewter, and 24K Gold Vermeil. LEGENDS uses actual metals, which are over layed onto the pewter or bronze sculpture. They do NOT use metal-like colors or paint to achieve the stunning array of colors found in LEGENDS Mixed Media sculptures. The various colors found in their sculptures are the true metals themselves. Their method involves an acid-based colored patina that literally adheres and becomes etched into the sculpture, thus allowing it to become a permanent part of the piece that cannot be peeled off.Made in the USA (see photo). It was issued in March 1992 and sold out in June 1992. It is no longer in production. There are other sculptures also available.
