Description: Pictured in this CDV view is Edward Dickinson Baker, who was a US Senator from Oregon and a great friend of Abraham Lincoln. In October 1861 Baker—serving as a colonel in the Union Army—was killed at the Battle of Ball’s Bluff, becoming the only sitting US senator ever to be killed in battle. On the reverse if the imprint of New York photographer E. Anthony. Really nice condition with slightly trimmed bottom corners. Measures about 2 1/2” x 4”.
