Description: 'St Ives Fishing Fleet in Carbis Bay’ pencil signed etching by Claude Rowbotham; 1864-1949 exhibited; 1900-12) landscape watercolour painter and etcher who lived at Wallingford, Berks, & exhibited mainly at the Walker's Gallery, London. Claude is well known and sought after for his etched views of Cornwall and the West country. A finely detailed atmospheric colour etching with aquatint has unfaded colours, printed with coloured inks, the image measuring approximately 9 cm x 6 cm (3½ x 2¼ ins.) within a strong plate mark and impression. Printed on a wove paper sheet size 23 cm x 18 cm (9 x 7 ins.) Titled and signed by the artist in pencil in the lower margin. Unmounted and unframed, the condition of the image and sheet is good with handling marks condusive with age.
