Description: DI I have had this unusual English pitcher for some time and have finally found out that it was part of a "Fairy Lamp”, a night light device, c.1890. It is made of heavy ironstone, has age-appropriate crazing, no cracks or chips. Marked with, a patent number, a logo, an elaborate British stamp, and a little poem:WHEN NIGHTS ARE DARK THEN THINK OF CLARKEWHO’S HIT THE MARK PRECISELYFOR HIS NIGHT-LIGHTS CREATE LIGHT-NIGHTS IN WHICH YOU SEE QUITE NICELYEmbossed near the bottom is “1 Pint”. Measures 4 1/8” tall and 5 1/4” across at the spout FYI My ebay listings will be paused at the end of February when I return to Paris. I can always be reached by email through ebay and will be back on ebay mid May. _gsrx_vers_1608 (GS 9.5 (1608))
