Description: Complete 10 Vol. Set HAWKINS ELECTRICAL GUIDE 1917, Audel Co. Good Condition +!! This set belonged to my grampa and was taken good care of in his garage workshop. After looking through them I can see why he kept them all these years. Really neat set! HAWKINS is known for his expertise in the electric field/ electric engineering, and the books cover a wide range of topics related to electric theory and practice. Much of this information still relevant today! Ten books, 2nd edition, with tons of diagrams, photos, schematics, information, and an extensive index at the end of Book 10. Also, kinda neat to look at all the old equipment and pictures. Easy to understand and easy to read. All books printed 1917 and there are 3367 pages including index. Each book covers a specific area on electicity and electrical systems. Examples include: static electricty, induction coils, field magnets, am/volt/watt meters, motors, testing, inside/outside wiring, alternators, transformers, converters, switching and regulating devices, management, wireless telegraph, electric lightening, electric railways, motion pictures, telephones, elevators, compressors, pumps, cranes, heat, electroplating, x-rays, and more! The gold edge on the pages is on all sides and looks great . Gold lettering on the binding side of the covers looks great, too. Inside books looks great! I'd grade the pages at a Very Good+. Pages are clean and crisp, turning easily (not brittle), no tears, no dog ears, print is dark and easy to read as are illustrations. Pages are numbered and with each successive book the page numbers pick up where the last book ended. Bindings are tight, no loose pages. Outer covers at bindings show some age with a bit of crinkle on the flexible leatherette cover- see pictures Book 1 and Book 2 have a small tear inside front cover and Book 2 has a stain at the top right inside cover and some page(s) see pictures. This set is in above average condition for it's age. Despite calling inside pages Very Good +, I'm calling overall book set - Good Condition + due to cover binding wear, few marks on covers, and the few marks/small tear inside front/back covers as seen in photo's. Book 5 has a different cover format with gold lettering, is still 2nd edition (1917)- just a Revised 2nd Edition - see pictures Books measure 6.5" x 5". Vintage, collectible, readable.
