Description: Compton Castle Near Torquay Devon 1924 Vintage Print A colour tinted print from a disbound book about Britain dated 1924, the reverse side has text or an unrelated picture. Caption beneath the picture - COMPTON CASTLE, NEAR TORQUAY. The castle is a castellated mansion and has a fine gateway, dating from the fifteenth century. It lies about 3 miles to the westward of Torquay, and has belonged in its time to the Poles, the Comptons, and the Gilberts. Suitable for framing, the average picture size is approx 5.625" x 7.5" or 14.5cm x 19cm, actual page size inc shaded border and text approx 7.875" x 10.375". This is a colour tinted vintage print, not a modern copy and does show signs of age or previous use commensurate with the age of the print with possible light creases, marks or foxing.
