Description: Conspiracy of 30 Mis-Use of Music from Aristotle to Onassis by Virginia Davis Edwardspublished by Conspiracy Press, Waynesboro. 1994 first edition. Prologue, not by Teddy Whiteexcerpt -" Your work is obviously intended for a wide audience and I would certainly encourage you to write letters of inquiry to the larger commerical publishers. One of them may well have the courage to bring it out," wrote Walker Cowen, Director of the University Press of Virginia at Charlottesville. This was my 50th rejection. Many editors had returned my manuscript with hand -written notes complimenting my scholarship, but with the usual "not commercial," "not suitable for our list," or just "not for us" Then I sent a copy to my beloved uncle, for his pleasure and entertainment. Shortly afterwards he had a massive stroke and died. He left me with an inheritance. That has financed the publication of this book. Then I wrote to the prolific historical author, Theodore H White, and asked him if he would be willing to write an introduction. My husband, William B Edwards (author of The Story of Colt's Revolver and Civil War Guns), had known him since 1951, when White was married to Bill's cousin, Nancy. Teddy White had been an ardent propagandist for Presidents Kennedy and Nixon. After the Watergate investigations, which disclosed the corruption of the shadow government that was controlling the elected Federal officials and appointees in Nixon's Administration, White's reputation as an objective journalist suffered. We felt that he would be interested in my story, because it gives an historical background and explanation to many of the unresolved questions that emerged from the Watergate scandal. White's office received the manuscript. It was returned to me by his secretary. It appeared to have been read. She wrote that he had just died. Had the revelations of my book sent both White and my uncle into a tailspin ?My original idea had been to write a friendly, non -technical account about the uses of music throughout history. Research showed that leaders have used music to manage people, and often this management had not been friendly. Whoever controls music controls people. Since the dawn of history, every medicine man, king, priest and industrialist has known that crowds are stimulated by rhythm and melody. The successful ruler feeds his followers the diet of music that will make them respond favorably to his commands. Whether his motives are for their welfare or his, the music they hear will affect their mental and physical health and actually make them good or bad people, according to the goodness or badness of the music. My study of music and the leaders who have used it led me to the chance discovery of what may be the biggest secret in history; a clandestine structure of 30 economic powers that have cooperated for thousands of years in a rather successful attempt to rule the world.....
