Fackenthal, Jr., who was a metallurgist and iron industry executive. He began work at the Durham Iron Works of Cooper & Hewitt in 1866, and from 1879 to 1892 he was superintendent of the works and general manager of Cooper & Hewitt's blast furnaces and mines. Condition: Fairly good condition considering age. The letter has some staining and slight weakness in the previously folded areas, but is not tearing. Used condition - Very old documents will be in imperfect condition: May have folds, creases, tears, or wear on corners and edges.May have yellowing or spots.Paper is 100 years old or more, handle with care.See photos for details on the condition.
