Description: Listing is for a Vintage 1998 Corgi Classics #55101, US Army Diamond T Tank Transporter+M60 A1 Medium Tank, 1/50 Scale, Die-cast Metal, Mint, NIB. Corgi 55101 Diamond T Tank Transporter in usual 1:50 scale plus its load of an M60 A1 Medium Tank of the 32nd Armor U.S. Forces in scale of 1:60 according to its box. Model transporter and tank are in new condition with, complete with sealed bag containing spare mirrors and spare tyre, and a separate gray Corgi dog. Original Box, Certificate of Authenticity included, Limited Edition Numbers 1540 or 7596 of 10,300. Box has some minor wear from storage, which understandable for a toy that is 26 years old. Corgi models painted army green in color. Massive Diamond T 980/981 tank transporter was used by all WWII Allies in North Africa and European Theaters. Tank transporter was first produced in 1941. M60 is an American second-generation main battle tank (MBT). It was officially standardized as Tank, Combat, Full Tracked: 105-mm Gun, M60 in March 1959. M60 tank series became America's primary main battle tank during Cold War, reaching a production total of 15,000 M60s. M60-series was last US main battle tank to utilize homogeneous steel armor for protection. It was last to feature an escape hatch under hull for driver. In late 1962 a kit was fielded that allowed use of AN/VSS-1(V)1 IR searchlight. Searchlight has both infrared and visible light capabilities and was positioned over a gun. Along with an M32 IR periscope for gunner, M19 IR periscope and M18 IR binoculars for commander provided first generation night vision capability to M60 & M60A1 tanks.
