It's intended to be used by Russian cosmonaut Sergey Avdeev upon his return from space mission, for survival in case of abnormal landing of Soyuz TM-22 in cold and windy conditions. This particular suit was compactly packed in a soft package and placed into Soyuz descent module for Sergey Avdeev, having his initials ASV on the package. The suit was the part of survival kit named "Granat-6", which name is presented on the package. The space mission of Soyuz TM-22 to the space station MIR was successfully accomplished from September 03, 1995 to Feb 29, 1996, totally lasting 179 days. Due to exact landing and quick rescue of the crew, the warm protection suit has never been used as intended. So, it remains unopened in its original soft package for Soyuz capsule until nowadays. What's inside. The suit TZK-14 is warm coveralls of blue color like shown on the picture. Its insulation is enhanced with padded polyester. There are zippers and snap button closures on the coveralls. The fabrics and eiderdown used in the suit's manufacture ensure its low overall weight and its ability to occupy minimal space when stored. Personality. Cosmonaut Sergey Avdeev made 3 space flights aboard Soyuz TM-15, Soyuz TM-22 and Soyuz TM-28/29 - all to the space station MIR. The last flight duration was over the year. The total time spent in space was over 2 years - that was the world record until Sergey Krikalev overtook him in 2005. Within his missions Sergey Avdeev made 10 spacewalks totally lasting for 41 hours! Condition - the suit is new, never worn. Manufactured individually for the cosmonaut Sergey Avdeev, with his initials on the package and on the suit inside it.
