Cranky comes w/ 4 Duracell AA batteries & 3 AAA in remote. Thomas & Flynn will not have batteries. Both are tested and work well! PLEASE NOTE, Flynn is a different version from set original and has the attached tender. He does not fit in the crate like Thomas to be lifted by Cranky. When he travels through the crate, he needs a little lift help because the tender is heavy to go in. Flynn can drive by the fire to put it "out!" With the crate in the loading area, the doors drop open. With crate in STOP position, Thomas drives in. Close the doors & use remote to have Cranky lift & turn. At any time, press the load button & Cranky automatically aligns with the loading area. With crate lowered, switch to GO, & Thomas goes out! Cranky's base will be removed for shipping.
