This shifter is able to slide up and down to change the pivot of the lever and shorten the throw of the shifter based on how low you adjust it. The solid shifter box bushings included with the kit replace the stock rubber bushings to firm up the shifter feel even more. The top of the lever is machined and threaded to be able to use aftermarket shift knobs. If you want to use the stock original shift knob the plastic adapter is also included to allow you to snap it on. To adjust the shifter length turn black knob on the red center part to tighten and loosen the shaft up and down. This allows you to adjust the shifter anytime you want without needing tools.This Craven Short Shifter installs by removing the center console and then replacing the shift lever, NO going under the car is required.
