Description: Crown Staffordshire Footed Cup & Saucer Pastel Floral w/Gold 1930-1974 #F15235 Elegant Decorative FOOTED CUP & SAUCER, PASTEL FLORAL Pattern #F15235 on White from Fenton, Staffordshire, England, Scalloped Rims & Fancy Handle, circa 1939-1974 DESCRIPTION: This set was skillfully designed with the floral pastel pattern using a palette of light green, yellow, blue, pink and purple with gold on the white porcelain. The overall quality of the design is quite professional. The most unique feature is the light green painted handle that is decorated in gold paint. This is most unusual. The gold trim on the rims, foot and the handle is very shiny and accents the fancy handle. CONDITION: While this set is classified as used, its condition is superb. There are no issues such as chips, nicks, cracks, rubbings, scratches, or hairlines. Overall, the trim is glossy. DIMENSIONS: The cup has a diameter of 3 3/4" and has a height of 2 5/16" while the measurement to the top of the handle is 2 7/16". The cup has a capacity of 7 ounces. The saucer's diameter is 5 5/8" with a height of 13/16". HISTORY/MARKS: Thomas Allen Green and Spencer Green were brothers who bought out other family members in 1876 of a business that could be traced back to 1801. The pottery was located at Minerva Works in Fenton, Staffordshire, England. The company traded as T.A. & S. Green until incorporated as Crown Staffordshire Porcelain Co. Ltd in 1903. The company was an important exporter to North America and continued limited production during WWII. In 1946, the company purchased Heron Cross Pottery to expand production. In 1948, the name was changed to Crown Staffordshire China Co. Ltd. The firm continued to be owned & operated by the Green family until 1964 when Semart Importing Co. (the US distributor of Crown Staffordshire) acquired the firm. The Crown Staffordshire name was used until it became part of the Wedgwood Group in 1974. The mark is identified by Geoffrey A. Godden’s (Encyclopaedia of British Pottery and Porcelain Marks) as #1152 which was used in the 1930-1974 time period. Please view all pictures carefully as they are part of the description.
