Description: C.T. Carl Tielsch Germany Porcelain Square Tea Trivet Plate Artist Signed This is a vintage porcelain tea trivet is from an estate sale. Back in the day when people sat down to formal tea, they would use these trivets to place a hot teapot on to avoid damaging the wooden furniture. Can also be used in modern days for hot serving pieces like casseroles or bowls of potatoes. It's a square shape and the corners actually have a drop off - raised and then it drops down. It has a delicate floral design. It's signed C.T. (Carl Tielsch), Germany and a large eagle mark/design above. Also marked with the actual artist signature. it measures about 6-3/4 inches square. It's in nice condition - there's slight wear on some of the gilt detail and a little bit on the flowers, but no damage. Normal wear for an item of this age - very good condition.
