Description: Get M1 For The Roadâ„¢Here at 'Get M1 For The Road', we're big fans of ALL things M1 helmet related! Lately we've found ourselves with too many M1 items and not enough free space, so it's time to thin the herd a bit. Our loss is your gain! Up for grabs - right here, right now, right away - is something you've never seen before: a custom-painted Israeli (more or less) M1. Further details are listed below:Details: Unlike most folks who sell "custom painted" SHELLS without the liners, this helmet is complete. This guy is one-of-a-kind and I will NEVER paint another one like it again! Most "artists" paint the same basic designs over and over again (ARVN emblems, Medic crosses, Band of Brothers units, etc.), but once I'm finished with a lid, it's colors and pattern (as a combo) are retired FOREVER. It's one-and-done, folks! Without further adieu, here are all of the details:SHELL: It's a "sold as surplus" Euro-clone (but with a barely noticeable dent near the top). Early on, Israel used any helmet they could get their hands on. They MAY have used this country's (Denmark?) M1 surpluses, but I can't say for certain. The paint job is not meant to look professional, it's meant to appear 'amateur-ish'. (There are some brush strokes and whatnot. In the last pic, you can see a small [zoomed in] brush hair that I missed before clear-coating... sorry about that). Think of WWII trench art, but more modern. I did NOT use any air-brushing, stencils, or decals to create it - only a few brushes and some paint. (One caveat - it DOES have multiple layers of clear coating. Now, that being said: don't drop it on concrete or use it for air-soft battles!) I spent MANY hours making this guy, but I have others in various stages of completion and I'm running out of room in my M1 collection, so I need to sell it. I'm looking for someone who appreciates it as much as I do. By the way - I've been custom-painting various objects for 30 years (just for gits & shiggles). This isn't my first rodeo, folks - it's done the RIGHT way. LINER: This one is a green vinyl Israeli liner made by Tama from 1970-75. It's in good shape, but it has a few issues: There's a little rust on the 'A washers', the suspension could use a cleaning, and the headband has some staining. On the plus side: The webbing has some faint Hebrew writing on it (which is why I didn't wash it), the leather is is good shape, and the liner has a near-perfect fit to the shell. Vinyl liners are NOTORIOUS for being too large for the lids.IN CONCLUSION: It was a labor of love and not meant to be sold for profit. After the shipping, fees, paint, and raw materials, I'm barely breaking even. Not to mention all the TIME it took. Again, it's NOT "professionally" painted, so please look carefully at all of the photos before you even THINK about buying - I don't do refunds.NOTE: I usually have a number of other items listed as well. I WILL put together bundle deals to save you money. Just let me know before buying. Also, I have a few spare (post-WWII) M1 parts, so just ask if you're looking for anything in particular.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Please take a look at the pics and item specifics for any other information you may require. If you have any questions or need more pics, just ask - I'm here to help. At times, I DO end some listings early and without notice (if there are no bids or best offers pending). So bid, buy, or make me an offer early - before someone else does.Bundle deals & best offers: In most cases, I CAN offer discounts if you're interested in purchasing more than one of my items. One example may be: buy one item - then get 10-40% off a second one (just let me know before buying/paying). I may also lower the price on certain individual items. I'm here to QUICKLY sell stuff, not to get top-dollar. It never hurts to inquire about ANY listing(s), just keep in mind that someone else may buy it up in the time it takes for me to get back to you. So, please feel free to ask, as every polite offer or question will get a response!Payment & Shipping: Payment is expected within a couple of days and our listings are sold AS IS, therefore no refunds will be given. If you have any questions (or want more pics), please ask BEFORE buying. Also, if you have 10 or lower feedback, please contact me before buying. FREE USPS shipping to buyers with a U.S. address in ALL 50 States plus D.C. and our territories (including P.O. boxes) - but NO international. Due to my work schedule, it may (rarely) take up to 3 business days before I can ship it out. My apologies if that's the case. Thank you for viewing our auction(s) and have a nice... eBay!
