Optimized Body Structure A highlight to the Certate along with several other Daiwa spinning reels, its one-piece Monocoque aluminum body enhances the reels overall rigidity while eliminating common problems seen on other designs. Common spinning reels utilize a multi-piece construction with three or four thin screws to secure them together, subjecting heavy loads on to these screws which only gets worse overtime. These screws also serve as multiple entryways for water and other contaminants to enter into vital portions of the reels interior. With Daiwa’s Monocoque design, its side plate simply screws into the reel body itself, improving the housing design and preventing deflection under load due to its larger surface area.
