Description: The Lyons Group Dakin Original Barney Backyard Gang Plush 10". This is the original first version of a Barney plush produced in 1989-1990 to meet demand following the success of The Lyons Group Backyard Gang Videos. This 10" version was the type sent to members of the Barney fan club. Although first produced with string on the mouth to approximate Barney's teeth, the string was quickly removed/abandoned during production due to concerns that it produced a choking hazzard. This version of Barney produced by Dakin is notable for having 5 green spots in a circular pattern on its back, the plastic eyes, not having claws on it's feet and it's vibrant, soft plush. Aside from some paint loss on the eyes, this 30+ year old plush is in great and clean condition, with minimal signs of wear or age. Please see pictures. Smoke free home.
