Description: This is a custom 1/6 scale, 12" figure commemorating a real American hero Daniel Inouye (September 7, 1924- December 17, 2012). Inouye was a Japanese-American living in Hawaii when WWII broke out. Daniel suspended his studies at University of Hawaii to join the 442nd Regimental Combat Team (made up of Japanese-Americans-Nisei). Inouye made sergeant quickly and was a much decorated soldier of WWII. He served in many battles but a battle at Colle Musatello at the Gothic Line would be decisive. Sgt. Inouye would rally his men and be the deciding factor in a key battle. He was grievously wounded and lost his right arm. He still fought on with his Thompson sub-machine gun and several grenades to turn the tide. Inouye received many decorations including the Medal of Honor. Daniel Inouye would go on to be the first Japanese- American in the United States House of Representatives as well as the US Senate. He was the highest ranking Asian-American in politics until Vice-President elect Kamala Harris. Please note that while this figure does not look exactly like Daniel Inouye there is a bit of a resemblance.
