The plates are engraved on thick paper and are protected by full-page paper guards with figure captions. CONDITION: The front board is completely detached. The back board is well attached to the text block, which is solid and intact, see attached photos. There are some water stains at the lower corners of the first several pages at the beginning of the book as well as at the end of the book, without loss of text, see pictures.The sides are gold gilt, the back is solidly attached to the text block and has five raised bands.There is wear to the boards. It looks like leather scuffing.A very nice copy of this title, a real work of art.
