Description: MierceMiniatures: Darklands - Ichys, Stóskoulon of KhthonSummary: One unpainted resin miniature for Darklands or other fantasy games.Mierce Miniatures is a new company that produces extremely high quality polyurethane resin miniatures for the Darklands wargame, as well as the BaneLegions miniature range and the Templar's Forge hobby and accessories range. Darklands is a wargame set in a fantasy world not too different from our own. Beginning in the year AD 650, Darklands will combine various fantastical and historical elements found in northwest Europe in the so-called 'Dark Ages' in a wargame that will be intuitive, fresh and interesting. Much of its setting will be known to fantasy wargamers everywhere, and thus be very easily accessible. It also has the biggest gribblies you'll see in any 30mm wargame! The Khthones are not one race but many, a myriad of reptilian anthropomorphs created by the Atalantes to be their servants and their menials, vassals to die in battle for them and thralls to bend to their every will, whim or desire. For thousands of years the Khthones suffered this cruel slavery, years of pain and mutilation and barbarity, until their endurance was finally exhausted and the chains that bound them could be borne no more. Led by the Gorgon known as Ophios, the Gorgonares turned on their progenitors and slaughtered them, rousing Krokodar, Lískar, Hydrar and many others of the earth to unite and win freedom; yet the struggle to break free from Atalantia is not so simple, as vengeance must be served and the Atalantes are warriors still. The Gorgones were created to be subservient, willing slaves by their progenitors but the Atalantes found far more than they bargained for in the barbaric melding of snake and human form. Too intelligent to be menials, too forthright to be mere servants, the Gorgones became slave-warriors, a calling that suited their calculating minds and vicious temperaments and, indeed, the increasing decadence of the Atalantes themselves. As Atalantia began to crumble so they relied more upon the Gorgones, forgetting their origins and allowing the snake-men power undreamt of in their long history. Yet power itself was not the reason the Gorgon Ophios rose against his former masters; it was the cruelty and depravity his kin endured despite their sacrifices and the broken promises of the humans that drove him to murder, that planted the seeds of hate in his heart, and he and those that now follow him will have their vengeance even if it leads to their oblivion. Ischys (converted by Martin Lavat from the artwork by Dan Warren) uses part of Chysperis' body to form a burrowing snake-monster on an 80mm base. Be warned: he swallows!Burrowing snake/worm.
