Description: This is a beautiful and "exacting" reproduction oil painting on board (NOT A PRINT or GICLEE and not a fragile canvas) of world-renowned artist 17th century Flemish painter David Teniers the Younger's work "The Monkey's Cooks" was painted by hand by Follower "L. Cassidy" and is signed by the artist. Before putting this up for sale, I researched online to see if there are any other actual oil painting reproductions of "The Monkey's Cooks" out there for sale and found none. All I can find are companies who will manufacture PRINTS of this particular work. I have found other oil paint reproductions of OTHER works that were originally created by David Teniers the Younger, however nowhere have I been able to find this one, "The Monkey's Cooks". So if you are a fan of this artist and of this work, this is an opportunity to own it! It also appears that this oil painting is listed for a far lower price here on Ebay than any other framed/matted/signed reproduction paintings by David Teniers the Younger listed online. The painting is in very good condition, with just a few very small (but repaired) tears/nicks, on one edge of the frame (you may not even be able to tell without a microscope!), and on the back of the artwork in the paper lining/cover. See photos for all details and close-ups. Here is a little information about the original artist from Wiki.: David Teniers the Younger or David Teniers II (bapt. 15 December 1610 – 25 April 1690) was a Flemish Baroque painter, printmaker, draughtsman, miniaturist painter, staffage painter, copyist and art curator. He was an extremely versatile artist known for his prolific output.[1] He was an innovator in a wide range of genres such as history painting, genre painting, landscape painting, portrait and still life. He is now best remembered as the leading Flemish genre painter of his day.[2] Teniers is particularly known for developing the peasant genre, the tavern scene, pictures of collections and scenes with alchemists and physicians. He was court painter and the curator of the collection of Archduke Leopold Wilhelm, the art-loving Governor General of the Habsburg Netherlands. He created a printed catalogue of the collections of the Archduke.[3] He was the founder of the Antwerp Academy, where young artists were trained to draw and sculpt in the hope of reviving Flemish art after its decline following the death of the leading Flemish artists Rubens and Anthony van Dyck in the early 1640s.[4] He influenced the next generation of Northern genre painters as well as French Rococo painters such as Antoine Watteau.
