Description: Handmade Lampwork glass beads are made one at a time by heating a cane or rod of glass over a flame torch and then applying the molten glass around a mandrel. The bead is held over the flame while it is worked on and cooled slowly to strengthen the glass. It takes a lot of skill to keep the bead from losing its shape and the adding of other colors in swirls or flowers demands much concentration. These are very beautiful handmade lampwork beads -- look like Easter. The photos above have fairly accurate colors but do not show the beautiful 3-D effect of these beads. The three larger beads have an aqua base with 3 or 4 delicate pink roses just under the outside of the bead. White swirls and blotches inside the clear glass look like a snowstorm or fluffy cotton. One of these beads is a 17mm round bead and the other two are 14 x 16mm rondelles. The four10mm spacers between the roses are very pale pink glass. Bead Artist Unknown
