Description: OFFERED ... a vintage signed turtle brooch by DiNicola, as signed on an oval cartouche. This is a real couture-worthy, statement piece. It's comprised of different size glass cabochons, all of which are present. The largest and dominant, mottled coral-colored stone measures 1 5/8" x 1 1/4", surrounded by 24 white cabochons of varying sizes, largest to smallest: 3/4", 1/4", and 1/8+ inch. All stones are prong set on a yellow gold plated frame. The outer edge of the frame is textured, a twisted rope design. The attached feet and tail are of a different texture that I would describe as caviar. The texture of the head is more of a brushed or Florentine finish; two additional small white cabochon eyes. The brooch measures 3 3/4" from head to tail; 2 1/2" in width from back foot to foot. An amazing piece. It was acquired by me very recently, along with many other pieces, from a lady who informed me they are pieces that had belonged to either her grandmother, mother, or herself. Her grandmother was born in the late 1800's and resided with her when she was a child. She and her husband are having what I would describe as a "living" estate sale.
