Description: A vintage early 1900's Danish Casket Box, shows patina to the finish from the age of this. This was made in Copenhagen, Denmark. Depicts the Danish Estonian Battle of Lyndanisse. This beautiful piece has a famous depiction of the Battle during the northern crusades by the Danes. Legend has it that the Bishop Anders Sunesen raised his arms in prayer, the Danes held against the Estonia onslaught. However, when he was tired, and his arms lowered the Estonians were on the verge of victory. The interior of the box is wood. Exterior is dark bronze with lots of design, as shown.
