DISCOVERIES & ADVENTURES HENRY STANLEY 1890 German language illustrated Africa

Description: the German translation of The Wonders of the Tropical World, or, Discoveries and Adventures of Henry M. Stanley with [other explorers i'm too lazy to list]. with 200 illustrations. it looks like the book was printed in the US, so was probably for German immigrants more than for a European market.some of it, like the maps and some other illustrations, are still in English; they didn't bother to translate anything past the text.has, again, 200 illustrations, and of them, about half are full pagers. frontispiece is maroon, and one random illustration is purple, oddly, but the rest are black and white.also has one large fold out map, in english. it is folded in there a bit wonky.book and illustrations cover Stanley and others' interesting adventures and findings in Africa,and mostly covers the animals, insects, natural wonders, the various tribes and their cultures, hunting, and just the general paths and trials the exploration teams took.even if you can't read it, its nice just for the pics. CONDITION: some wear to spine and edges of boards.first few pages are dogeared.split in text block at title page.pages yellowed, and a few have tears in them, but none seem missing.text block marbled, and except for the split near the front, seems solidly held together.
