Description: Original US LP released in 1966 on the black and silver Vanguard Records label. Cat: VSD79213. Southbound was a pivotal record for Doc Watson. Upon its 1966 release, it demonstrated that Watson was capable of more than just dazzling interpretations of folk songs, but that he could also write excellent original material and rework new country songs in a fascinating manner. Southbound also marked the recorded debut of Merle Watson, Doc's astonishingly talented son. There are a few light spindle marks on labels. Record has some light scuff marks and very light scratches that cause some crackles and is in VG+ condition. Cover has some ringwear, light marks, light scuffing on corners and some small surface tears around edges and is in VG+ condition. Wrapping method: All records are sent in stiff cardboard mailers then wrapped in brown paper and sealed around edges with brown packaging tape. Records are taken out of sleeve to avoid seam splits and ring wear. Post methods within Australia: All records are posted via Australia Post. Within Australia all items come with a tracking number.
