Description: For Sale is a book about "Wild Bill" Donovan, the founder of the OSS, Office of Strategic Services, which was disbanded at the end of the war, to be replaced by the CIA, titled, "Donovan of OSS," by Corey Ford (1970) Second Printing. The author used Donovan's historical papers, letters and diaries to reconstruct his life and actually worked under him when he was in the Air Force and knew Donovan personally. Sadly, the author died just a few days after reviewing the final version of this book, prior to going to publication, on July 27, 1969. Although called "Wild Bill," the author claims that he was just the opposite. Donovan was a highly decorated soldier of WWI, a prominent Wall Street Lawyer and a student of intelligence history, having been a voracious reader, reading every historical account of intelligence gathering that he could find. The book has 366 pages. A great book about an important and interesting figure that made some amazing exploits. This will be shipped via USPS Media Mail.
