Description: About the item: In addition to having nearly 500 full-page color cartoons published in Playboy magazine since the early 1960s, a limited number of Doug's cartoons were featured in annual Playboy Press publications, including: Playboy Presents SEX and Other Late-Night Laughs, Playboy Cartoon Album, The Best from Playboy and The Pocket Playboy. This cartoon appeared in one of those publications. The first scan features everything included in the listing- with further scans for greater detail, including scan two which features an 8 1/2 by 11 inch pencil sketch rendered on vellum as well as the page, removed from the book itself, that features the finished version of the cartoon. The third scan features a Xerox copy of the cover and title page of the book. The fourth scan features a Xerox copy of the cartoon from the book and a Xerox copy of the copyright page with comments by Playboy's Cartoon Editor, M. Urry. Condition on each piece is good. Buyer receives one original pencil sketch, a Xerox copy of the cover, title page, and copyright page, and the page itself removed from the book (please note that the book itself is not included in with the listing. About Doug Sneyd: Doug Sneyd began his career in commercial illustration before going freelance to work for a variety of book and magazine publishers. He also illustrated single-panel cartoons for the Toronto Star, Canada's largest circulation newspaper (cartoons that were eventually syndicated throughout North America). In 1964, he began working for Playboy and his gag strips have appeared in the magazine ever since. Throughout his career, he has contributed over 500 cartoons in all and became a favorite artist of Playboy readers.
