Description: A complete outfit ready for that next Downton Abbey, Gatsby party or event in this Casadei purple draped Nylon and chiffon dress with intricate beading detail with a FREE fascinator hat to finish the look in a vintage 80's style with best fit for medium to large sizes today. This listing is for this 1980's does 1920's art deco style look with a FREE Downton Abbey inspired fascinator hat that was custom made for this dress by Mary. This fascinator hat slips onto the head at front or can be worn further up on the head, headband style as desired. This hat has a combination or black and purple feathers with a rhinestone accent around band area that is set on a black band that beautifully accents the beaded detail at the Ruched draped front of this dress. For more information on Hats Made by Mary - please contact me. She can custom made a hat for most pieces. This dress has the Casadei tag inside, but there are NO sizing tags or contents tags inside. Due to the blouson style and somewhat stretch material, I feel this would best fit a medium to large size today. My model is a small and this was much too big for her at the bust area. This has in internal slip or lining and we had to clothespin the slip area and also take in a lot at the back with a clothespin so we could show this piece on a model. Please see measurements below for fit. This dress has shoulder pads, blouse draped bodice area and heavily beaded details with beaded drape at shoulders and a matching beaded detail at low waist near hip area. This has a shaped and uneven hemline with draping detail at front and back of dress with asymmetrical hemline detail. The top of this dress has a blosson or almost cocoon style wrap. The dress is lined to the dropped waist and the inside slip does not attach with the overblouse or draped cocoon wrap. You put this dress on over your head. There are no zippers or buttons. This dress is lined at the top of the dress - but is the thicker nylon and acetate single layer only at the draped hip area to hemline. This dress feels like a chiffon nylon and or nylon acetate chiffon like fabric (no contents tags inside). The tags inside show:Casadei1982 Copyright Eletra (this certainly helps date this to the early 1980's)No contents tags - no sizing tagsNo cleaning tags - but with beading should only be dry cleaned (this comes to you clean and ready to wear) This should fit a modern size medium to large today. See below to see if this will fit you. This is forgiving from shoulders to hips. At hips, this is a slimmer more body con fit. Please look at hip measurement below to see if this vintage 80's garment will work for you Bust to 40" with some give in the fabric. Overblouse has loose fit. This is the measurement of the inside fabric. The overblouse or cocoon purple part of the dress blouses over the black center part. There is some give in the jersey style knit on the back of the dress.armhole is 50 inches (raglan style large sleeves and bicep area)waist to 40 incheships to 42 inches - slimmer fit thru hipslength is 44 inches at front and 50 inches at back (uneven hemline) CONDITION: Beading appears all intact. Purple and Black fabric is bright. I do not see any issues with this vintage dress and comes to you in excellent vintage condition. I love this 80's does 20's art deco, almost Erte style dress design. Flattering and stunning look that is certain to get attention where ever you go. HOW TO MEASURE FOR FIT:All measurements are taken with the garment laying on a flat surface. To determine if a garment will work for you, get a garment that fits you well. Lay your garment down and get a cloth measuring tape. Measure from underarm to underarm at seam line. Double this number to get the measurement you need for a garment to fit you. For example, if the underarm measurement at the bust is 20 inches (this would be 40” doubled). This does not mean you have a 40 inch bust. You probably have a 36 to 38 inch bust and you need room to breathe and move in a garment. Repeat this for the waist and hip area, doubling to see what you need at each area to have a garment work for you. To get an armhole measurement, follow the seam line at the armhole—if it measures 11 inches, you need an opening of at least 22 inches to be comfortable to wear. In vintage garments, the bust and armhole area are usually the areas of most concern. People are bigger than in the 50’s, 60’s 70’s and 80’s. Keep this information with you and this is very helpful in making sure you have a good fit for any piece purchased online. REMEMBER: Size means NOTHING when it comes to most vintage items. Actual measurements are the best method to determine if a garment will work for your body. Don’t let a SIZE dictate your purchasing decisions. The actual measurements are all that counts in fit. If the outfit says, bust to 40” - that does NOT mean your bust is 40 inches. That means you need 40” at the bust to have a garment feel comfortable for you. Bust measurement is NOT your bra size.
