Gilbal introduces more personal and animated story elements into the Gazette; he multiplies the news items of a sensitive and moral nature. This narrative trend is reinforced with Detune, which gives a large place to trials and major affairs of the time (Collier affair, Cagliostro's legal memoirs); politics also takes on a certain importance, notably with the bulletins from New York, which describe the establishment of the new administration.
