These are cut, TIG welded, and and burrs ground before painting. So there are minor defects from grinding in all of them. They are not machine made, so don't expect to receive something looks punched out. These were made seriously heavy duty and will outlast your saw. Size is 1.75 (1 3/4) inch x .875 (7/8) inch wide. The welded on deflector is 1 inch wide. The slot cut in the base is approximately 1/2" x 3/4" long. I do not recommend running a dual port muffler that is not spark arrested. Hence included is a stainless steel spark arrestor screen. Check your federal, state and local laws before assuming a modified saw is legal where you intend to run it. Before purchasing, make sure you have a 1" x 1.75" flat spot where you can drill holes and mount the deflector. I would advise you start by drilling one 1/2 inch hole and center the deflector over it. After testing, if a 1/2 inch hole is not large enough, elongate the hole with a file or die grinder to match your saw's needs. Use a 3/32 drill for pilot holes for the screws. I recommend you DO NOT use a power screwdriver to set the two screws. Hand screw them in so you don't strip out the muffler hole. The screws provided with this kit are #8 x 1/2" long. The spark arrestor screen is stainless and is held in place by the deflector mounted on top of it. IMPORTANT: Most chainsaws will need the carburetor adjusted after a muffler mod. Not only do you usually need more fuel to take advantage of the better breathing you get from a dual ported muffler, but your saw may be running too lean after modding the muffler. Running too lean can damage your motor! You are responsible to make sure your chainsaw and its muffler is appropriate for modifying. I make no claims to knowing which saws are capable of being successfully modified and which ones are not. If in doubt, take it to a professional and let them do the work. Replacing a muffler from a botched modification is fairly cheap, replacing a motor damaged from a botched modification is not cheap. I am not responsible for your results.
