Description: Offered for your consideration is a clear and frosted compote made by Hobbs, Brockunier and Company (1845-1888) in their number 77 pattern. This pattern dates circa 1880 and features a beautifully frosted bowl with engraved fern leaf and stem design atop a clear glass standard (stem). The open compote measures 8 inches (20.3 cm) in diameter and is 7 inches (17.8 cm) tall. This beautiful compote is in excellent used condition with no cracks, chips, nor roughness. There are very few light surface scratches or minimal wear to small areas of the frosted bowl. See photos. The stem, base, and unfrosted glass is bright and clear with no cloudiness, discoloration, nor lime scale present. There may be bubbles, a shear (straw) mark, and other minor imperfections within the glass due to the manufacturing process used at the time.
