Description: Offered for sale is a beautiful antique SUGAR BOWL & LID. It was made by Riverside Glass Works of Wellsburg, WV. The pattern is called X-RAY, aka Riverside #462, and this is the smaller "breakfast sugar". Like the full size version, it features six wide smooth panels, and bright metallic gold decoration, but the sides are more tapered. This pattern was introduced in 1896. The small sugar bowl stands 4 3/4 inches (12.1cm) tall to the top of the finial knob. It stands 3 inches (7.6cm) tall to the rim, and measures 3 1/2 inches (8.9cm) in diameter at the widest part. The opening at the rim measures 2 1/4 inches (8.9cm) in diameter. A U.S. quarter is shown in the third picture, to give an accurate impression of the size at a glance. Sugar bowl and lid are both in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, scratches, or repairs. The gold trim has shows signs of wear. All my items are from a SMOKE FREE home.
