Description: A child's toy piece from the early 1900s, this covered butter is a perfect addition to a Pattern Glass collection, Victorian Toy display, or as a beautiful and sparkling place to keep tiny treasures on a dresser or vanity. It includes the popular hobstar design imitating fancy cut glass, and a matching bottom butter dish with a ring to keep the lid in place over the butter - just like the family's butter dish in a set of full-sized tableware. This stands just over 3 1/4" in height with the lid, and approx. 5 1/4" in diameter of bottom dish. There are no major flaws, and just one extremely tiny flake on the bottom rim of the lid (final image). The scalloped seam edges of the bottom plate are a bit rough in spots where it was taken from the mold, and one flake is seen in the top of a single scallop. These tiny flaws are very difficult to see. As with pressed/molded glass, depression and vintage glass, there may be slight 'character' marks, bubbles, ripples and mold marks on bottoms or sides from the original mold and/or production process. Shipping: I strive to preserve historic pieces AND our natural world via recycled materials and careful packaging. Fragile items will be wrapped, bubble wrapped, boxed and then secured in an outer shipping box. Shipping rates provided by this site are based on distance, weight, size and shipper.
