Description: This EAPG milk glass toothpick holder in the “Pearls and Shells” pattern was produced by Gillinder & Sons Inc., Philadelphia, PA, circa 1900. The original paint around the body is in good shape while traces of original paint remain around the rim. The toothpick holder stands 2” HOA and is 2” DOA. If you have any additional questions or need additional photos, please do not hesitate to ask. I am happy to help out. As with almost all items made of glass in the 19th and early 20th century- tiny bubbles, annealing lines, straw marks, mold roughness, slight lean, etc., are not considered damage to the piece. This happens when the piece is being created, also called “in the making”. Most Early American Pattern Glass, EAPG for short, was made in the United States starting in the 19th century and ending in the first quarter of the 20th century. EAPG was made for everyday use and can still be used today to make any occasion extra special, elegant and fun, not to mention the perfect gift for anyone. I would recommend not putting the glass in the dishwasher, please hand wash. With so many patterns out there, the collecting can be endless.
