He is sporting a pocket watch and a ring on his little finger. There is a curtain behind him which has been pulled back to reveal a landscape with trees. The painting is unsigned. On canvas. Condition The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. Inspection under UV light reveals some areas of restoration. There are several canvas repairs at the reverse which have been fully restored at the front. There is a small loss to the paint on the lower edge of his hand.
