Description: Easby Abbey Richmond North Yorkshire Antique 1834 Etching by George Cuitt the younger (1779-1854) Framed and glazed, it's in excellent condition with some historic water staining to the mount. On the back of the frame there's a pasted down label with the following information: 'EASBY ABBEY (the east end of the frater) 1834. An etching by George Cuitt the younger of Masham.George Cuitt the younger 1779-1884, son of George Cuitt the elder (1743-1818), painter who was sent to study in Italy by Sir Lawrence Dundas. Cuitt the younger was an etcher who published etchings of ancient buildings in England and Wales. Printed on india paper and then pasted onto a thicker paper wit the title and signature in hand. Thought to be the artists proof copy.' The image size is 37cm x 26cm and the frame is 50cm x 36cm. Please take a close look at all of the photos as they also form part of the description.
