Description: Edwin & Mary Scheier Vintage Pottery Pitcher 6.5"H. Collector's piece, Extremely Rare!This museum quality collector's piece is a great addition to anyone's collection, carrying the history of the artists and the simplicity in their works. Mary Scheier was a pioneer of modern studio pottery movement. Scheier could throw thin pottery pieces with simple, elegant glazes for which she was famous for. They would also dig up their own clay rather than ordering refined clay from labs. Starting with their first studio Mary and her husband set up shop in Glade Spring, Va. and the rest is history. Ms. Scheier's works are currentlyl displayed at the Metropolitan Museum of Aart, The Brookyn Museum, The American Craft Museum, and the University of new Hampshire Special Collections.
