Description: 1930's vintage Effanbee / Edgar Bergen's Charlie McCarthy pull-string doll with Effanbee Play Product pin on the jacket lapel. Doll stands at 15" and 6" shoulder width. Effanbee embossment on the back (As shown). Original suit pinned in place and pull string still works. Monocle attached; string to monocle is broken (see picture), but the other half is still pinned inside jacket. Doll has moderate crazing on face and back of head, (as pictured) Left eye has a paint chip next to the iris. Left shoe has chip on the outside by the heel, (as shown on picture.) Right shoe has two small scuffs near arch of shoe, (as shown in the picture.) (Looked up history on Effanbee and most state the Charlie McCarthy doll production was from 1937 to 1942 timeframe.) Personal note: This doll was in my great aunt's collection and was passed down to me.
