Description: A pretty cool dude or dudette! This Egyptian Scarab statue with glazed blue inlay was hand carved from soapstone. The scarab beetle was important to the ancient Egyptians, signifying rebirth. People wore scarab amulets for protection and the dead were buried with scarab statues to guide them through to the afterlife. The carving does have a small chip that is only visible when flipped on its back. Please look at the photographs.
