The overwhelming individuality and looks of the monkey grip body and Avalon Vine fingerboard inlay are symbolic of Mr. Vai. The 21st fret is scalloped, and the pickup is a three-mounted DiMarzio Breed with a strong mid-range characteristic, and the combination of the well-matched basswood body and Edge tremolo outputs his characteristic growling tone. This guitar has a wide range of nuances and an atmosphere in which the player's emotions are directly expressed in the sound. There are small dents on the bottom of the body and pick scratches on the pickguard, but overall there is little major damage. The truss rod works well and there is plenty of room to adjust both the forward and backward bows. The neck bow has been adjusted with the rod and is now almost straight. There is a slight wear on the frets, but there is still enough left and it does not interfere with playing.
