Description: China, western Asia, 11th-12th century. Forged iron, 5 3/8” total length, and about 1 1/2” width with slightly curved cutting edges and cusped base. Arrows of this size were effective flesh cutters and could bring a horse down whereas a smaller point produced a wound with which the animal could suffer for some distance before falling. See Arms and Armour of the Crusading Era #769 for related examples. Listing and template services provided by inkFrog
