Description: Small size, big bottom. I searched and searched for a subwoofer for my one man band. I discovered this Electrovo-Voice and it more than stood up to the manufacturers promise. It weighs 35 lbs but the bottom end is amazing. The specs say it will output 101 db at 1 watt and the speaker does that. I would practice at night and my family members complained because it was keeping them awake when I turned it down as low as I could and it still shook the house. The speaker has a built in crossover so it will pull the bass signal from an amp and pass the high end out through its output for the midrange and treble. The crossover is not adjustable because it is passive. I originally set these up as the subs for a system that used the Carvin small line array speakers as a tower and powered a pair of Carvins and a pair of these with a Berhringer 6000 watt power amp with one side powering a pair of these speakers. I believe the SB122 is made using a 15 inch magnet and coil structure for a 12 inch speaker cone and that combined with a corner cabinet is why this small subwoofer is so effective. The cabinet has a speakon connector for the input and the output terminals.
