From 1866 to 1869 he studied at the Karlsruhe Academy of Fine Arts where he was a pupil of Karl Friedrich Schick and Ludwig Des Coudres. He then moved to Munich and was trained there by Wilhelm von Diez at the Academy. The artist made numerous study trips to Italy, France, England and Belgium. He then settled in Munich and became very popular for his landscapes, enlivened by children figures. Numerous magazines, including "Gartenlaube", "Ueber Land und Meer", and "Universum", frequently reproduced his works as postcards, posters, engravings, and illustrations. In 1880s Keyser regularly participated in art exhibitions in "Glaspalast", Munich. His paintings can be seen in Munich Neue Pinakothek and other German museums. They achieve high prices at international art auctions. Our additional images show several other of Keyser's works.
