Fashion designer Emilio Pucci (1914 – 1992) created outfits for the jet-set. From 1965 to 1973 Pucci dressed the staff of Dallas-based Braniff International Airline (1928 – 1982) using vibrant kaleidoscopic colors and eccentric geometric lines. Pucci designed colorful, bright uniforms and accessories for the flight attendants in Braniff Airlines “The end of the plain plane” campaign. Often described as “kaleidoscopic,” a classic Pucci print is a swirling mass of abstract shapes, sinuous lines and wild color. Pucci designed the prints himself, drawing inspiration from his Italian heritage and his extensive travels around the globe.
