Angustifolia This herb is native to the Mediterranean; specifically Spain, France, and Italy. It is now widely cultivated. General Description: Lavender is known as 'Queen of Herbs' for herb gardens. This lavender is a dwarf shrub that is broadly mounded. Hardiness Zone: 5 to 8 Maintenance: Low Mature Height: 2 to 3 feet Mature Width: 2 to 3 feet Plant Details: Growth Habit: Broad, mounding, rounded and multi-stemmed with a medium growth rate. Leaf Structure: Narrow, grey-green needle-like leaves, fragrant when bruised or crushed. They measure 1 to 2 ½ inches long and up to ¼ inch broad. They are evergreen in warmer winter climates. Stem Structure: Young stems are square and slightly fuzzy. Bark Structure: Stems mature into round, rough, and somewhat woody branches. Soil Preference: Sand, Loam, Gravel. Well-drained.
