While Orville Les Pauls were available in Japan, many Epiphone Les Pauls were made in Korea at the same time, and this model had a small 7-digit serial number. (From the following year, 1995, it became FC + 7-digit number.) Today, there are still low-cost Les Pauls that have a bolt-on neck to keep costs down, but this model has a completely different structure, with a bolt joint on the back of the pickup that is not visible from the exterior.
