Description: For sale is a serving or console bowl made by Evans Pottery of Dexter, MO. Bowl measures 3 1/4" tall x 8 3/4" across, and 5" across the base. Weighs 2 3/4 pounds. It has the rough "pine cone" texture and an uneven brown, tan, and yellow glaze. There are chips along the top rim edge, but no cracks. The glaze is skipped on the texture, (either from when it was made or wear), and there are some small chips in that area. The small chips blend in so are hard to see. Evans Pottery, Dexter, Missouri was in production from the 1850's (started as Semmimon family pottery and changed to Evans late 1800's) until the 1960's. The family made many utilitarian pieces so a lot of the kitchen pieces that are found at local estate sales have chips or wear.
