Description: Up for sale is an excellent example of the Ricoh Auto Rikenon EE 50mm f/1.7 standard prime lens in m42 (Pentax/Praktica) screw mount. Made at a time when Ricoh was producing some of its most highly-regard prime lenses, this model is no exception, producing fantastically sharp images with great clarity and color rendition and an interesting swirly bokeh character. Like a lot of Ricoh primes of its era, it is rumored to have optics manufactured by Tomioka Optical, but as always, such reports outside of the 1.4 models are largely speculative and should be taken with a grain of salt. It is in excellent vintage condition with light-moderate handling wear, excellent mechanics, and a few faint cleaning marks in front coating. Free of glass scratches/haze/fungus. Includes UV filter It features Ricoh's "EE" version of the standard m42 screw mount, with aditional aperture coupling for use on TLS EE (electric Eye) shutter priority cameras. The very versatile m42 screw mount, which can also be used natively on any standard m42 screw mount-SLR camera by Pentax, Praktica, etc. and can be adapted for use on most popular Film SLR, DSLR, and mirrorless formats with a glassless adapter (see chart below for digital compatibility).
