Description: This is a fabulous pair of C.1800 Paris porcelain lamps that were electrified around 1930s. The bell form porcelain is decorated with exceptional opposing portraits to the front. One lady is reading a book, the other with two birds. The portraits are outlined in raised gold gilt design. The back is decorated with hand painted botanicals with the same gilt border design. The French blue color is magnificent and really pops. The hardware is gilt metal with pull chain sockets all on a white marble base. These lamps were once oil lamps. You can see the tin font inside that was dilled to make the Lamps electrified. This is a really nice old pair. The shades are not included and are there for a visual only. A 10" tall (25.4cm) x 15" diameter (38.1cm) x 10" diameter (25.4cm) shade will fit these lamps very nicely. Measures; 24" tall x 6" square, porcelain 7" tall (60.9cm x 15.24cm, 17.8cm)Condition: Overall beautiful condition. No chips, cracks or repairs. The only thing I can mention is the filigree metal collar was drilled on the side as one time there must have been twist knob sockets, not pull chains.
